MODERN METHODS OF TRAFFIC FLOW MANAGEMENT IN FUNCTIONAL-SPATIAL ORGANIZATION OF ZONAL TRANSPORT CENTERS
Abstract
The article analyzes modern methods of traffic flow management in the functional-spatial organization of zonal transport centers. An approach to the classification of traffic flow management methods in cities is proposed. The main tasks of the mathematical model are formulated - determination of typical characteristics of transport networks functioning processes, such as intensity, speed, traffic delays, loss of time on sites and the key reasons of unsatisfactory functioning of transport flows in cities are considered.
The focus is on urban planning methods to increase the efficiency of street and road networks, based on the division of the city into transport and planning areas with the maximum possible approximation to the district balance between the working population and the number of jobs. This approach reduces the mobility of the population, and hence the traffic load on the road network of cities. It is shown that the correct placement of functional zones, rational planning and construction of the city, the optimal location of places of residence and jobs is a priority in solving the transport problem of Ukrainian cities.
Key words: functional-spatial organization of zonal transport centers, management methods, transport flows, city transport system, street-road networks.
